Booze and Grief

I am a widow. I became an alcoholic because of the pain. Loneliness. Fear. Isolation.

Actually, my drinking career started in earnest when my husband was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. I was 58 years and my husband 64 years. He died at age 66. The heartache, financial difficulties, unpredictability, isolation, agony of a terminal disease got me taking shots so I could sleep. Then some more.
